On February 15th those affected by the toxic drug crisis in Barrie came together to honour the lives lost to this public health emergency. We came together to share stories, remember loved ones, shatter stigma and call for action.
I spoke about Ryan and share who he was as a person. Other mothers shared their stories of love and loss. And some front line workers shared their stories too. Hearing from them about life in trenches, about their loss and the grief that gets compounded for them with each death due to drugs was incredibly moving and powerful. These people, that are out there every day fighting t keep people safe and alive are my heroes. From the bottom of my heart I thank them all.
In case you missed it here it is.
